KUGAI'S MISSION
Women should be educated at an early age to be prepared to fight back against sexual
assaults, kidnapping, domestic violence, etc.. In addition to the knowledge of proper
methods to prevent and deal with an assault, they need to learn genuinely effective
physical defense skills. KUGAI is designed to provide women with realistic fighting
techniques which compensate for differences in strength between them and attackers.
Preventive methods and physical defense skills are both needed to increase confidence
about your security. Without confidence, you will look vulnerable and be a potential target
for human predators.
If kidnap victims had learned these skills in school, some of them could have saved their
lives. If women can be educated to recognize the warning signs of domestic violence, they
will have a better chance of avoiding such situations. If children and teens are instilled
with preventive methods coupled with self-defense skills, there may be significantly less
sexual assaults in the future.
The most important step to realize this goal is for KUGAI to be introduced into the
educational system.
Women’s Self-Defense at ASU has female students practice KUGAI and master it to the
level they can teach and advise younger women in school or other facilities.
KUGAI is willing and able to demonstrate its effectiveness to law enforcement officers and
safety experts to help spread its message.
KUGAI actively searches for community assistance and organizations who can help
communicate the benefits of the KUGAI’s message to local schools.
If just one of my students could protect herself by learning KUGAI, I will have
accomplished my mission. I will be very happy to know that I can contribute something to
society with the martial art that I have devoted my life to.
However, I need many people’s help to make this possible. Parents, students, school
faculties, law enforcement staff and more giving me just a little assistance may eventually
save many women from all-too-common crimes like sexual assaults and domestic violence
.
